At the 2019 KMWorld conference, Dr. Sergei Ananyan (CEO, Megaputer) was stopped by Judith Lamont (Sr. Writer, KM World) to talk about what his company is doing in the Life Sciences industry to deliver insights faster. Dr. Ananyan described a case study with her involving a globally reaching pharmaceutical company that sought to take pharmacovigilance to the next level. The solution involves automatically detecting and reporting adverse events discovered from documentation within various data sources, such as fax, phone calls, emails, and mail. However, as Dr. Ananyan put it, “To correctly detect and classify adverse events, the system has to resolve several layers of complexities,” which includes much more than just handling the integration of several forms of data from different sources.
