Beginning in PolyAnalyst version 6.0.875, you can now setup a data source node that imports emails directly from an email account such as Gmail, Yahoo, or a corporate email server. The functionality is present in a new data source node named E-mail Data Source. This new feature opens up new opportunities for analyzing corporate messaging using the variety of automated statistical analysis tools available in PolyAnalyst. For example, you can develop a spam classification filter using a neural network or any one of the many machine learning algorithms available (e.g., support vector machine, decision tree, decision forest, case based reasoning, and more). You can setup a schedule that periodically imports emails from a shared email account such as “support@mycompany.com” and then automatically flag messages as important, trigger notifications, or reroute messages to the appropriate personnel.

In this initial release, only the POP3 protocol is supported. IMAP support is planned in the future.
