Legal and Privacy Information
Last Revised 2-18-2022. The Megaputer Privacy Policy is subject to change without notice.
Our commitment to privacy
Megaputer respects your privacy. Any personal information you provide to us, including but not limited to your first name, last name, address, telephone, and email addresses, is considered by Megaputer to be private information. Private information will not be released, sold, or rented to any entities or individuals outside of Megaputer Intelligence, Inc., and authorized Megaputer partners. Our authorized partners may contact you in regards to Megaputer products or related services. If at anytime you feel your privacy to be in question, please contact us immediately at privacy@megaputer.com or by phone at 1 (812) 330-0110.
Information we collect provided by you
We collect information you provide to us when you use a Megaputer owned website, including megaputer.com, polyanalyst.com, and megaputer.ru (collectively, the Services). This includes:
Request for Information Form: several of the pages of the Services provide a common form where you can enter in basic contact information and a message. When submitting this information, an email is securely sent from the web server to an internal Megaputer email address. This internal mailbox is checked and managed by sales and support staff. This information is not stored in a database. However, sales staff may transfer such information into a private customer relationship management system. Emails are retained in this mailbox indefinitely. The mailbox is cleaned up periodically and older emails are deleted.
Registration or Purchase Forms: certain areas of the Services provide forms to enable convenient, online registration, such as to Megaputer’s annual Analytics Conference. Information submitted by the form is stored in an internal database, and emailed to an designated employee who processes registrations. Data is stored within this database indefinitely. Emails are stored within this employee’s mailbox indefinitely. No purchase information (such as a Credit Card Number) is stored internally. Purchase information is done by securely communicating with a Stripe.com payments system. See the Stripe privacy policy for additional details.
Information we collect automatically
When you access our Services, we may also automatically collect information about you. This includes:
Conventional web server logs. We may log information when you use the Services in what is typically known as a web server log file. The log file may include your IP address, information about your web browser, your operating system, the link you clicked on to visit a particular page, a generic mobile device identifier, the particular URL you are visiting, your screen’s resolution, and search terms. A few months of log file data is kept at a time, after which older log information is permanently deleted without backup.
Cookie information. We may receive information from cookies, which are tiny pieces of data that your desktop or mobile computer browser stores and sends to the Services when visiting a URL (viewing a web page). We use cookie information to enable the Services to “remember” that you have visited before. This recognition enables the website to configure itself such as to avoid you having to re-enter your information into a form, to personalize content, and to improve the quality of our Services. For example, if you select to use the Services in a language other than the default language of English, the browser will store a cookie that remembers this choice, so that the next time you visit, you do not need to specify your preferred alternate language again.
Cookies
We use “cookies” to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web server. Cookies are not used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize pages on our websites, a cookie helps us to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. When you return to the same website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the customized features.
You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the Megaputer Intelligence, Inc. websites you visit. Megaputer Intelligence, Inc. keeps track of the websites and pages you visit within Megaputer Intelligence, Inc., in order to determine what portion of the Megaputer Intelligence, Inc. website is the most popular or most used. This data is used to deliver customized content and promotions within the Megaputer Intelligence, Inc. website to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.
Log Files
We may collect demographic information, such as your ZIP code, age, gender, preferences, interests and favorites using log files that are not associated with your name or other personally identifying information. There is also information about your computer hardware and software that is automatically collected by us. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. This information is used by Megaputer Intelligence, Inc. for the operation of the website, to maintain quality of the website, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the website. For these purposes, we do link this automatically-collected data to Personal Information such as your name, email address, address, and phone number.
Form Spam Filter
This website makes use of the Google reCAPTCHA online service to verify that online form submissions, such as the website’s contact form, do not contain spam. Certain information pertaining to the form submission is submitted to Google at the time the form is submitted. Google then responds with a spam score indicating whether the form is spam. Communications are only processed when the form is not flagged as a spam submission.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Your personal information is not shared outside Megaputer without your permission, unless:
• we have your consent to share the information (if required under local law);
• sharing your information is necessary to provide a product, service or information you have requested; by way of example, sharing your information with a bank, logistics company, event organizer, etc.
We reserve our right to disclose your personal information to a third party if we have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, or to protect against imminent harm to the rights, property or safety of Megaputer, its users or the public as required or permitted by law.
Storage, Security and Protection of Personal Information
We endeavor to maintain appropriate physical, procedural and technical security over our offices and information storage facilities so as to prevent any unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification of Personal Information.
Your Personal Information may be stored in secured physical locations and on computer network servers controlled by Megaputer, located either at our offices or at the offices of our service providers. To help protect the confidentiality of your Personal Information, we employ physical, administrative and technological safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of your Personal Information as specified in the Megaputer Information Security Policy.
Your Ability to Access or Change Your Information
If you are a registered user or have been named as a contact person for a company (including but not limited to companies acting as our end users or partners), you can review your personal information and make change requests by writing to privacy@megaputer.com. While you are named as the contact person for a particular company, we will direct to you many of the correspondences for such company. If you do not wish to receive further business correspondence for and on behalf of your company, you may also make change requests by writing to privacy@megaputer.com upon consultation with your company. Similarly, if you do not wish to receive further direct marketing materials, you may “unsubscribe” the relevant marketing materials. If you are no longer the contact person for a particular company, we will retain in our files some personal information to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, enforce our Legal Notice and Terms of Use, respect your opt-out preferences, and comply with legal requirements as permitted by law.
