Starting in PolyAnalyst version 6.0.922, you can now import emails from Microsoft Outlook PST files. If you have ever worked with Microsoft Outlook and performed an email backup, the backup is typically stored in the form of a PST file. Many organizations use PST files as a means of archiving older emails. A PST file is analogous to a compressed folder of .msg files, where each msg file represents an individual email.
This new data source further expands PolyAnalyst’s innate data access capabilities to ensure that you can analyze your data no matter where and how it is stored. This is particularly helpful, for example, for larger law firms that need to analyze employee communications during the discovery phase of a trial. There is no longer a need to use a third party tool that first transforms the PST data into a format suitable for searching and analysis. This is just one important feature out of many that enables PolyAnalyst to be used for electronic discovery purposes.
The new functionality is available in the form of the Email Archive node, a type of Data Source node available in the PolyAnalyst node palette.
