Health care providers and insurers are required to keep private all personal identifiable information (PII) of their patients or customers. How it works
Personal identifiable information involves various elements, including the name of the patient and doctor, patient ID, birth date, postal address, insurance policy number, social security number, and much more. Megaputer ‘s data redaction solution uses advanced linguistic analysis and pattern recognition techniques to identify standard PII elements. The solution can be further expanded for detecting other domain-specific items by adding some custom pattern recognition queries.
The user can tell the system how the redacted PII should be masked. The simplest option is to mask data elements of a certain type with some pre-selected pattern. In addition, the solution can support the more complex usage scenario, when the organization needs the ability to decipher all original PII upon receiving the documents that were processed by some external service agency.
